Firearm Training

Text Box: Firearm training isn't for everyone, and there are many who should and would never consider a handgun as a method of self defense or a source of recreation. But for many women, the discipline behind learning how to properly use a firearm improves other areas of their lives. This training fine tunes eye-hand coordination, enhances concentration, develops a greater level of attention to details, and builds self confidence. And the opportunities for building friendships with other women who enjoy the sport are abounding!
Women Taking Aim uses the excellent training programs of The National Rifle Association and the National Sport Shooting Foundation to assure that each member receives the best firearm instruction, and must be taught by NRA certified instructors. We encourage our members to join the NRA. See their web link below for more training information.

From The National Rifle Association Basic Training Website:

Since 1871, one of NRA's major objectives has been to provide basic training in the safe and proper use of firearms. · ammunition and its function

· shooting fundamentals and an opportunity to develop them on the range

· how to select, clean and store a firearm

· review of various activities available to help participants develop and improve their shooting skills

Attractive certificates are awarded to participants who successfully complete each basic course.
