American Journey

Text Box: Our tournaments give you the opportunity to practice those skills you have learned in firearm training, to test your abilities against other women, and to earn prizes of all types while having a wonderful time. And our targets are designed for women, so they are interesting, challenging and very cool (paisley, etc.). Trophies: First, second and third place trophies are awarded in various calibers and types of pistols and/or rifles. Ability levels, such as beginner, general, and master class are implemented when there are a large number of participants. Otherwise, a handicap method of scoring is used. Competitions are held on chapter, state, area and national levels. Shooting For Shopping: As an alternative to the usual tournament, WTA offers gift certificates for department stores and other participating business locally or nationwide. Prizes are given for first, second and third place as well as other categories: most improved, best round, best shot, and well, you get the idea. This is a fun event that encourages fellowship among our members. We adhere to the National Rifle Association firearm rules and regulations, and require that each member to comply with them fully. Our main aim is the safety of women, and this applies to the shooting range especially. Detailed instructions are provided for each chapter participating in our tournaments, as well as any assistance needed to assure a well run event.
